bioAbout MeI am a graphic designer with a passion for music. I am currently the Office Manager for our Building Company Next Gen Building and contract as a Web Developer to 'Design Sense Graphics & Web' a design studio in Boulder. I have been living in Kalgoorlie-Boulder since 2000. I have been married to my husband Mitch since 2009 and we have 3 beautiful children aged 1, 3 and 5. I love playing, writing, recording and listening to music, socialising and being creative. Musical BackgroundGrowing up in a musical family, I started learning piano from an early age. I chose clarinet as my 'main' instrument to learn at the age of 11, later doing my classical exams and TEE performance component on clarinet. I started in the church band on clarinet at about age 13 and a couple of years later moved onto backing vocals and then piano and worship leading. As a teenager I was involved in the youth group band, trying out drums and bass while teaching myself guitar for fun. I started writing songs and picked up saxophone to play at school and in the Curtin Show Band (now known as the Kalgoorlie Community Show Band). Since then I've been involved in a diverse range of bands, musicals, group and solo performances. I also taught music for a number of years with Platypus Music and at local schools including John Paul College. I have been leading the Kalgoorlie Community Show Band on & off for nearly 10 years now and we put on a showcase every couple of years as well as playing at private functions and community events in Kalgoorlie and beyond. InspirationI am a Christian and so a lot of my songs are inspired by God and the Bible. I write about what I am passionate about and about things I have learnt. I aim to encourage and inspire people with my songs, and write about things that are real, relevant and true. Musical ExperiencePerformance Highlights Bands Musicals Achievements |
